Camp & Sleep

MSR Hubba & Footprint:

As i will travel with a full pack and camp on several occasions i decided to give my old tents to the kids and buy myself one of the best tents i could find.
And what a tent it is the MSR Hubba i can set it up in under 3 min and under 8 min in windy conditions
Light as a feather 1.2kg and it will just fit me and my huge pack.
Got it for a good price instead of paying 380, euros i got it for 225,- so a damn good deal.
( i wanted the Hubba HP actually but i could live with the price difference)
I also got myself the MSR footprint ground sail for about 29 euros and it proved to be as valuable as the tent itself.

Ok downside there is no room left for any girls in the tent. :P or some room to really stretch your legs.
but beside that it kept me dry it kept me warm and it was absolutely windproof. And no condensation on the inside.

Thermarest ProLite Plus:

This was a easy choice, i already used several different models of these mattresses over the years. so i just picked out a good one. There are lighter models then this one with 630 grams it is one of the heavier things in my pack. But the comfort is just needed, and if you are still sleeping on a cheap foam mattress then you should really try this .
with a R = 3.8 isolation you get no cold back and you are sleeping in comfort. well worth the weight.

Ajungilak Kompakt 3-Season:

This was a hard choice there are so many different types of sleeping bags i could not decide what to buy.
In my military days there was no real choice so back then it was not so hard.
So i asked the sails girl from beversport to give me some advice that fitted in my budget.
And this was the one, 160 euro,s for a sleeping-bag omg :)
Ok tried it at home first warm nice fabric and nice and warm. very good compression bag to fit it in my backpack. but downside for all the
comfort is the weight it is heavier then my tent.
And i learnt a good lesson the first day, i thought and i really thought that the compression bag that came with the pack was waterproof. So i packed all my gear in waterproof seal-bags except my sleeping-bag. How wrong i was with the tent in the bottom of my pack with no rain-cover i got surprised by heavy rain on dent hill. so at low cock how i found myself in a floating bag. It dried out quick and lesson learnt.
