Waterproofs
TNF Paclite Serrac Jacket:
Finding
a good waterproof jacket was one of the hardest things on my
gear-list.
I readied loads and loads of information and reviews of all
kinds of rain gear.
I gave the parmo jacket some thought ( the one lone walker
is using ) but i found it to thick and i hated the colors.
just not my style i guess.
So what sort of jacket to use ? i should be very good
because it is rain all the way on the coast 2 coast ( how
wrong i was ) so i decided
to find myself a pac-lite jacket. I found several good
jackets but the prices where just of the scale. until i
suddenly got a hold on 1 last jacket somewhere in a store
for half the price. 170 euro,s instead of 399 euro,s. so i
gave it no more thought and ordered it, and in my favorite
color BLACK.
Got a few days of testing it in rainy weather and it proved
to be waterproof but the venting was no match against my
sweating skills.
Specially wen i am in training mode walking with 21kg
backpack at 6km a hour.
At normal speeds with a day pack it was more then good and
light.
TNF Hyvent Resolve Pant:
I wanted my pants to be paclite as well. But again the
prices where of the scale and all the pack lite models where
not big enough to fit easly over my normal trekking pants.
so i found myself a hyvent pant from the north face again.
and it proved to be a good pants after-all.
They are a bit nasty to get my boots true because of the
maze-whire inside the pants but with some practice it became
a minor problem.
Good choice Freddy :)
